We are delighted to welcome Cato Networks as the Official SASE and Cybersecurity Partner of the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team for Season 9, which began in Mexico City with a superb 2nd placed finish for Pascal Wehrlein. Both drivers put on a convincing performance with Pascal earned the podium finish having started 6th on the grid, and teammate, António Félix Da Costa, battled his way up the grid from 9th to 7th. We can now start to look ahead to the next two races in Diriyah sitting in a strong 2nd place in the Constructor’s Championship.

Motorsport is the perfect platform for the Porsche brand to drive innovation and technological advancement. The international racing series like the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, is intensely data driven.  Over 100 sensors in the GEN3 generate data that is captured by the pit crew and sent to the headquarter via the cloud for analysis, providing the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team with a competitive edge. All of which makes having the highest-grade IT infrastructure and security critical to our success. That’s why we turned to our new partner, Cato Networks.

Cato has built a worldwide, optimized backbone, the Cato SASE Cloud, that interconnects our pit crews and operational sites. By connecting to Cato using any local internet service, our teams send data more reliably than would be possible over the public Internet. In the first week of usage alone, we transferred more than 1.2 TB of data.

Passing so much data means we could easily fill up the small internet pipes offered in certain parts of the world. Cato’s technology lets us determine how to best use those internet connections, prioritizing critical applications so they operate smoothly while simultaneously carrying volumes of data back to our operational headquarters for analysis.

Beyond giving us a more reliable network, Cato’s global SASE platform protects our teams from the cyberthreats we’re all so familiar with. Cato has built a complete range of converged, security defences in its cloud. No additional security equipment needs to be shipped, configured, and deployed.

Overall, Cato makes administrating our network infrastructure much simpler, helping us focus resource on the critical decisions that make a difference. The Cato SASE Cloud ensures that we have the most secure, reliable connection wherever we are working across the globe, whether at a racetrack, during travel or at the Porsche Motorsport HQ in Weissach.

Our IT engineers including IT product managers, IT support team, track support engineers and the Motorsport IT department will be working closely with the experts from Cato Networks to optimize our existing systems, make our connections secure, and enhance quality of service.

We recognize the support of our important partners such as Cato Networks, who enable us to provide our sporting team the best possible set-up to deliver our full potential on track and to achieve the maximum sporting success.

A huge amount of effort was invested in recent months to be one of the first teams to test the next generation of ABB Formula E race cars and give ourselves the best possible package for the Season 9 opener. Working with a next-generation SASE platform, like the Cato SASE Cloud, only made sense.

Our hard work earned us a great start to Season 9 in Mexico City and now it’s up to us to continue in the same manner. We are excited to see the how the Porsche 99X Electric Gen3 car develops over the course of the season with the help from Cato Networks and other partners.

We look forward to your continued support!
